World-building through costume designs: In this personal project, I am exploring a variety of designs that evoke a fictional yet believable culture. My goal was to offer something that felt both alien, yet familiar. I took references from different periods and different cultures around the world, overlapping the common motifs where it made sense, in order to create something vaguely relatable. I also looked to add other details that felt unfamiliar, or jarringly out of place- creating a sense of mystery and fantasy. My goal was to create a cast of background characters that tell a story, and feel convincing.
